Qi Gong & Meditation

Traditional Methods for health, wellness, balance and energy cultivation

What is Qi Gong?

Qi Gong is an internal and externally focused art that involves slow, flowing, co-ordinated, body movements and breathing. It has roots in China that can be traced back over 4000 years and is used to improve health, aid relaxation and promote the cultivation and smooth flow of internal energy.

Qi Gong (sometimes also referred to as Qigong or Chi Kung) has many translations but, literally, can be taken to mean “life energy cultivation” or "energy work".  In Eastern cultures, Qi Gong is traditionally used for preventative and healing health.

What is Meditation?

Meditation is simply the practice of training the mind to realise a desired mental or biological change in state.

Developing meditation skills and undertaking regular meditative practice is well established as a means to improve health and well-being, particularly in the melee of of modern life.  Meditation is beneficial for everyone as it enables the practitioner to take control of their mind, emotions and cognitive state.

Meditation

Meditation is suitable for all ages and all ability levels, from complete novices to those with considerable experience of meditative practice, breath and energy work.

We do not teach "meditation for mindfulness" as that should simply be an intended consequence of any worthwhile meditation system.  Rather, we provide comprehensive training, drawn from methods tested over many centuries, appropriately applied to modern life challenges.  No special equipment or clothing is needed to practice meditation but achieving maximum benefits does require regular practice and discipline.
